Oneida Victor® Coil-Spring Wildlife Traps

A favorite of many trappers, Oneida Victor Coil-Spring Traps are the standard against which the performance of all others are measured. Easy to set and easy to conceal, these traps lay flat and lock up quickly for maximum success in dirt-hole sets.

Most are equipped with heavy-duty chains and swivels to reduce the loss of larger animals, yet they are so compact and lightweight, you can carry all you need for a long trap line. The jaws have smooth edges, but there is still plenty of flat surface to hold the catch securely. Lever openings are large to prevent ground cover from being thrown into the jaws.

The popular 1.75 and 1.75 OS coil-springs have been replaced by the 1.75 2x2, which is available with offset or regular jaws. These two-spring traps have a patented, heavy-duty frame that forces the animal to step on the pan for the trap to fire. The center-mounted chain assembly sets flat to make bedding traps quicker and easier.

Oneida Victor® Coil-Spring Wildlife Trap Setting Instructions

	For fox, coyote, coon and similar weight animals: On coil spring traps, the adjusting bolt on the pan shank may be tightened to eliminate the chance of capturing smaller animals. Tighten the pan bolt (turn bolt in completely, then back out) to lightly hold 6" pliers (approximately one pound). Place the tip of the dog in the trigger slot just enough to catch the tip.
For water trapping with uncovered traps: Set pan slightly higher than jaws to catch swimming animals. Pan should be level with jaws for a land set trap door effect. Raise or lower the pan by bending the dog-end of the cross.
